What is Gyan Shakti and what is Kriya Shakti? Where does true knowledge reside and how does it gain the power to motivate positive and evolutionary action? These are topics that Maharishi addressed profoundly and that have the utmost relevance to our personal lives, our families, our communities, our nations, and the whole world.
On 22 November 2007, Maharishi explained why the age of ignorance came. “Kali-Yuga came,” he said, because “Kriya Shakti became blurred, nobody knew what to do. Everyone lost his Dharma and, losing Dharma, all suffering and all kinds of negativity come up. This is because of the loss of Gyan Shakti.”
The field of Gyan Shakti is the Veda, Maharishi said, “and Veda we have realised to be the flow of Atma (the Self), and the flow of Atma has been put to practice from the level of Kriya Shakti … enabling the Transcendental Consciousness to function through our attention on it.”
Thus, as Gyan Shakti blossoms, Kriya Shakti blossoms more and more.
Maharishi said that his contribution will be to give Gyan Shakti to the world: “The day will not be long because the Kriya Shakti is lively. That will take me just to say what I see. … For Gyan Shakti to blossom, I have only to indicate – it’s not my intelligence that will do it; it’s just what I see, I speak, that’s all.”
In this course, we will hear some of the most inspiring talks of Maharishi on this subject and enjoy readings from his books over the years, all under the guidance of Raja Peter, a much loved and inspiring course leader who spent decades working closely with Maharishi and absorbing his precious wisdom.
