Maharishi’s first exposition of his Vedic Science to the world came during a special three-month assembly in New Delhi, India, starting in November 1980 with 3,000 people in attendance. Maharishi was joined for this course by the leading Vedic scholars and Pandits of India along with world-renowned scientists. The recordings from this amazing course are now becoming available after 45 years, through the excellent work of the international course development department.

In our Maharishi.online Total Knowledge series, we have already had one set of talks from this assembly in January 1981 about the phenomenon of symmetry breaking and Vedic cognition – why and how the world is as we see it. This new set of talks includes the key sessions from the beginning of the assembly, starting with the grand celebration of Mahā Lakshmī Day, the Festival of Light, on 7 November 1980.

During the course we will explore the amazing content of these talks under the guidance of Dr Peter Warburton, who will put them in the context of Maharishi’s total unfoldment of knowledge over the years.

As Maharishi said when inaugurating the course: ‘Vedic Expressions are the pronouncements of Natural Law; in that language Natural Law pulsates in creation. Turīyaṁ vācho manushyā vadanti—the language through which Nature speaks and works, that is the language of the Vedas. So, now we’ll have the blessings of those who have been carrying that Language of Nature in their speech throughout time, in their beautiful Vedic Traditions.’

The talks include the following topics:

Maharishi’s inaugural address to the international Vedic Science assembly on the occasion of Dīpāvalī, the Festival of Light
Enlivening prosperity and progress for every country through the invocation of Mahā Lakshmī

Inspiring and enlivening all the creative tendencies of Nature in our simplest form of awareness—listening to Vedic recitation and celebrating Vedic festivals
Maharishi celebrates Deva Prabodhini, Day of Awakening

As Maharishi said when inaugurating the course: The fulfilment of Vedic Science lies in the tradition of maintaining the continuity of the language of Nature in human awareness, generation after generation
Recitation by Vedic Pandits connects the whole cosmic activity of creation with the Transcendent

Listening to the Purān expands and cultures the awareness to perceive stability in the midst of contrasting values
Developing and stabilising evenness in awareness

Maharishi offers a new formula for enlightened governing: Saha Vīryaṁ Karavāvahai, all rising in harmony together
Making opposition obsolete by livening infinite correlation in the nation
