Maharishi’s master, Guru Dev, was hailed as “Vedānt Incarnate, the Embodiment of Truth” by Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the President of India.
Vedānt means the end or culmination, anta, of all knowledge, Veda. Maharishi revealed that Vedānt becomes a practical living reality in the state of Unity Consciousness, Brahmi Chetana. This state is revealed by the famous Upanishadic sayings – mahavakyas – such as Aham Brahmasmi, I Am the Totality.
The course will contain important selections from the Vedic texts and excerpts from Maharishi’s own talks and writings, all explained with great clarity by Dr Morris in his inimitable and endearing style. Of particular interest will be readings from Maharishi’s 1955 “Beacon Light of the Himalayas” that contains some of the richest and most profound expressions of Vedānt to be found anywhere.
Dr Morris worked with Maharishi for more than 39 years since becoming a teacher of Transcendental Meditation in India in 1969.
He received an MA and BA in Psychology and Philosophy from Cambridge University, and an MSCI and DSCI from Maharishi European Research University.
Dr Morris is currently International President for Maharishi International Universities and President Emeritus of Maharishi International University. He is also Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Brahmananda Saraswati Foundation (USA).

I have not heard Bevan Morris speak before and I really enjoyed his gentle voice and whole manner of presentation. In other circumstances, it would not have crossed my mind to do a course online because I like going to residential courses where I meet other meditators. In fact. I have found other advantages to doing it at home. It is easier to note down things of particular interest or play them again later; and there are fewer distractions. I can really think about the information presented. – S.C.
I thought this course was absolutely brilliant. Dr Morris presented the knowledge in a very clear, structured way; particularly liked the 'Grape' chart. For a long time, I have been intrigued by the forty aspects of Vedic Literature and here was a beautiful description of the unfolding of it through Maharishi's enlightened insight. The recitations, the video clips of Maharishi, and Bevan's explanations were a complete joy. Also, Dr John Hagelin's video on Vedic and Modern Science was inspiring. – P.L.
This course provided a unique opportunity to delve into the teachings of Maharishi and see them in the supreme context of the Veda. Each Vedic expression was beautifully elaborated on by Dr Bevan Morris and its location explained. Wonderful choices of rare videos embellished the lessons and demonstrated and elaborated the particular point and meaning of the session, giving deep insights and significant understanding. Every lesson wove the threads of the Vedic expressions into a wonderful coherent tapestry so we could marvel at the full picture of the Vedas and Maharishi’s teachings, seeing each part in its coherent place in the systematic scheme Maharishi envisioned. Dr Bevan Morris has a wonderful manner which is calm, warm, and loving and his explanations and commentaries are very clear and eloquent. His love of the topic is tangible. – B.B.
Dr Bevan's lifetime of devotion to Maharishi pours out of every story and description he provides. He brings to life the unfathomable depth of Maharishi's vision in a way that feels fresh and intimate to my own level of understanding, whilst always pointing to deeper levels ahead. This course feels particularly timely given the increasing pace of our global transition. I always feel soothed that, in spite of the chaos outside, all is well in the world and we must keep turning our attention inside to ease out the bumps of our own transformation. Thank you, Dr Bevan! – T.P.
