With Dr Rajvinder KaurVal Murray

19 September - 12 October 2022

Dr Rajvinder Kaur & Val Murray with special guests Dr Donn Brennan & Varsha Khatri

Ayurveda believes that the entire universe is composed of five principle elements: Prithvi (earth), Jala (water), Tejas (fire), Vayu (air), and Akasha (space or ether). These five elements are understood to form the foundation of the three basic humours of the human body.

Different combinations of these five elements are also understood to predominate in the different seasons. For example, Vata predominates in Autumn/Winter, Pitta in early Summer, and Kapha in early Spring.

Each transition from season to season should always be made with ease and comfort but also with careful attention to the changes that are taking place. To protect the individual during these times of transition and susceptibility, Maharishi AyurVeda provides certain dietary and behavioural recommendations depending upon the individual’s own unique body type.

It is known in Ayurveda that, for each person, there is an ideal daily and seasonal routine to ensure optimal health. The principal goal of Maharishi AyurVeda is to establish balance by proper use of the right foods, herbal supplements, routines, and knowledge, according to body type.

In the course, you will discover this ideal through understanding the basics of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, and through recommendations for good digestion, along with Maharishi AyurVeda remedies for balance.

The course will be led by Dr Rajvinder Kaur, a highly respected Maharishi AyurVeda practitioner and Val Murray, an experienced Teacher of Transcendental Meditation in the Channel Islands. The course will comprise eight sessions to be held over a 4-week period on Monday and Wednesday evenings between 7.30 and 9 pm.

Val Murray

My name is Val Murray, I was born and raised in Dublin/Ireland and moved as a young girl and made my home in Jersey Channel Islands in the eighties. I am a Soft Furnishing and Interior Designer (IDI) and started my own business and ran it successfully for 20 years. It gave me such a wealth of experience dealing with the public which also prompted me to take a Social Psychology Diploma Course.

In my early thirties, I learned Transcendental Meditation for anxiety and stress and very soon it transformed my life, my working life enhancing my experiences and strength as a woman in the business world, also my home life in raising my family. I learned to look at life differently, still do and still learning. The natural progression for me 10 years ago was to become a TM teacher (MVI) and help to pass on this profound Knowledge for our overall health.

My inspiration always being Maharishi. I opened the first TM Centre in Jersey 9 years ago and it has been successful and a joy to run, teaching many hundreds of people in our community in Jersey and Guernsey with my ongoing focus to teach as many people as possible to grow coherence on our beautiful Island. We have group meditations, day courses, Maharishi Ayurveda courses, and my favourite: weekend courses, I have organized and ran many now, they are so valuable for Knowledge, Rest and Rejuvenation with deeper experiences of self.
